1Communications Beyond 5G

Description:

The objective of this research line is to address the evolution of the concepts and technologies that have been developed in recent years in relation to Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Softwaren Defined Networks (SDN) towards the new challenges of beyond 5G technologies. Therefore, this research line can be represented as a continuation of the line of the previous period called "Reconfigurable architectures for the provision of advanced communication services", although it also tries to give continuity to the work carried out in the line "Communication systems for the provisioning of services in Transport Systems".

2Advanced Security Technologies and Applications

Description:

The objective of this research line is to investigate security mechanisms for current telecommunications networks, in order to improve such mechanisms and adapt them to both current and future systems. This line makes special emphasis on certificate management and authentication in IoT environments with resource-deprived devices, and advanced cryptographic techniques in distributed systems using Multi-Party Computation (MPC) and homomorphic cryptography. This line continues the work developed in the previous line called "Security in distributed systems", being adapted to current technologies by means of advanced systems and mechanisms.

3Technology Spread and Transfer

Description:

This research line aims to formalise all activities related to the transfer and dissemination of knowledge that has been generated as a result of the research carried out in the previous lines, exploring new innovative ways of transferring knowledge. The promotion of transfer activities often allows strengthening ties with the business fabric, giving rise to links in the form of contracts, which allow the group's research work to continue. In a complementary way, this line supports all the activities of dissemination and diffusion of research results, including the scientific community, the industrial business network and, in general, society. Through dissemination and diffusion activities, the idea is to highlight the relevance of science and telecommunications with special emphasis on the role of women in it, to promote cooperation between public and private entities, to publicise the work being done, and to attract talent.
